MEASURING CHAIN SLACK
THIS TECHNICAL TIP THAT WILL HELP WITH THE PERFORMANCE OF YOUR RIDE AND ENSURE A LONGER LIFE OF YOUR CHAIN AND SPROCKETS
This month is how to adjust your chain correctly and keep it adjusted long into the ride. You might be thinking "I already know how to adjust my chain". If halfway through the day your chain has ever become too loose or even worse too tight after adjusting it earlier that day- Here is why: You didn't get the chain adjusters pulled up tight against your adjuster bolts before tightening that axle nut down. My solution is to always put a rag between the top of the rear sprocket and the chain, then rotate the wheel backwards until the chain is tight. When the chain tightens, the axle blocks will be pulled tight against the adjuster bolts, then tighten axle nut down. No excuses. Get out there and ride!
